--a "Must Buy" for those with Irish heritage.

I grew up in Ireland with home-baked buttermilk and baking soda breads, and crumbly scones and other delicious cakes and pies. The recipes in this book bring back memories . My friends and family here in Florida especially love the wheaten and oaten loaves of bread I bake from these recipes, which become even more delicious because I use organic grains.
I have given some copies of this excellent book as gifts over the years..

Sweet little old fashioned cookbook

I like this little book. Even though I'm avoiding American processed gluten products, there is still enough in this book that I can use. These are recipes from simple folk and a simpler time. They are easy to make and don't require ridiculous to find ingredients. If you don't like gluten, you can buy ancient grains flour or other gluten-free flour. This would be a nice cookbook for someone starting out or a young person who just wants to bake fresh without over complicating it. Eat real food and you don't need fancy preparation. That's my two cents
