The chapter on Van Morrison is especially horrific, as Prendergast repeatedly misquotes song lyrics:a line in "Astral Weeks," "I've got a home on high," nonsensically appears twice as "I've got a hormone high"; Cyprus Avenue, a street in Belfast present in both "Madame George" and a song entitled "Cyprus Avenue," is called "Cypress Avenue"; in "Cleaning Windows," Morrison remembers "Muddy Waters singing 'I'm a Rolling Stone,'" but Prendergast, seemingly ignorant of that song, writes "Muddy Waters / think I'm a rolling stone." Errors such as these prevent the reader from having even a modicum of confidence in the author.
